Acceptance and Publication

Acceptance and Publication

Acceptance for Publication

The process of publishing a manuscript involves several stages. First, the editor-in-chief and/or editors assesses the submitted manuscript to determine whether it meets the JARI journal’s scope and is suitable for publication. If the manuscript passes the initial appraisal, it is sent out for peer reviews by the independent and anonymous expert referees. The peer-review process is double-blind, meaning that the reviewers do not know the identity of author(s) and vice versa. The internal evaluation of the manuscript takes at least three weeks before sending it out to two peer-reviewers. The editor-in-chief has the right to reject any manuscript within three weeks month without peer-reviewed process. The external evaluation may take between one or two months, and the reviewers rate the manuscript based on their expertise and knowledge of the subject matter. The criteria for acceptance and publication are:

  • Accepted without change: If a manuscript is evaluated as “Accepted without change,” it will be published as its original submission after acceptance.
  • Accepted with minor change. If a manuscript is evaluated as “Accepted with minor change,” the editor-in-chief will decide after submission of the revised paper or book.
  • Accepted with major change. If a manuscript is evaluated as “Accepted with major change,” it is required to send back to the reviewer for re-evaluation.
  • Rejected. If a manuscript is evaluated as “Rejected”, it will not be allowed to be resubmitted, even if it is revised.
